New CO
When: The evening after Easy took the town of Foy
Where: Provisional HQ post of Easy Co.

Who would guess, how today could change everything? Well, Ron knew, that Dike was going to fuck it up - he has been observing Easy and its former CO for a while to anticipate it. He WAS prepared to take over, because in the war, you always have to be ready for sudden emergency like this. Nevertheless, Dike is out and it's clear, what is going to happen. He will be assigned as Easy's CO, as soon as Winters gets it approved. Before that, Ron shouldn't be wasting time. He needs to learn as much as he can about his new company, although it is not official yet. Ron is about to go out to check on his men and find one of the sergeants, when he almost bumps into somebody.

"I'm sorry, sir, I didn't see you there." Gene hastily picks up the papers he drops on the ground and looks over at Ron, smiling.

"Doc." Ron glances at papers on the ground and in doc's hands. "Are you looking for me? Do you need something?"
doc_roedoc_roe on March 27th, 2008 02:35 pm (UTC)
"No, sir, I was just going to deliver some casualty lists to headquarters."
ron_speirs on March 27th, 2008 03:03 pm (UTC)
"You?" Ron lifts an eyebrow, surprised. "Well, give them to me, corporal. I'll pass them to the Battalion with my report. I guess, it's my job now, anyway." He takes the lists and quickly checks the names. So many... "How are you with supplies and medications? Took anything from Krauts?"
doc_roedoc_roe on March 27th, 2008 04:47 pm (UTC)
"Yessir." he nods and continues "we're running low on sulfa and bandages. I was able to swipe some morphine and bandages from the Krauts, but it won't be enough."
ron_speirs on March 27th, 2008 06:37 pm (UTC)
"Alright. We're moving out soon and we should get some supplies in our new destination. Of course, we can't reckon upon it, so take what you can. Anyway, I'll repeat our request. Make a list, what you need." Ron folds the papers and puts them into his pocket, then he glances around. "Have you seen any of the sergeants?"
doc_roedoc_roe on March 27th, 2008 09:41 pm (UTC)
"Okay, sir, I'll find whatever I can." Gene smiles and continues "No, sir, I can't say that I've seen any of the sergeants around."
ron_speirs on March 27th, 2008 10:12 pm (UTC)
"Nevermind. I'll get somebody to find them. It may be, that we are moving out early in the morning. And you have more important things to do now. You can go, corporal. And bring me that list, as soon as you have it." Ron smirks at Roe and turns to leave finally.

"I'll bring it to you, sir." he salutes quickly and runs off.

((ooc: "Care for a smoke?" - shouldn't it be MY phrase? LOL... Any idea what's Shifty's rank here?))

"Why not?" Ron nodded in answer to the other man's greeting. "You're Powers, right? I know, you got that sniper today. Good shot. Men were talking about you." He took the offered smoke and lit it.

Ron just dragged on his smoke and looked at the other man. "It was not so much about will. As you said, sergeant, we are all doing what's necessary." He paused for a moment to think about today's events. "Would you like to tell me more about that situation during past few weeks? I want to learn more about Easy and I guess, your opinion could be helpful."

"It was a rough time for all of us, sergeant, but all the same it was the best opportunity to prove characters. Tell me about the men, how did they bear with their situation, who encouraged them, what kept them going. Whatever you find important."

"That's good to hear." Ron nods and stubs out his smoke. "I guess, Easy is really lucky to have someone like First Sergeant Lipton. I've got to know him back in the training, when that group of "troubled guys" from Easy joined Dog for a couple of days. So, I know you don't exaggerate talking about him." He returns back in memory for a moment, before he continues. "Anyway, I believe, that all the NCOs are great support for the men, aren't they?"
